It’s Time to Review Your Medicare Plan

Unlike some insurance plans that rarely change, Medicare and Medicaid make changes annually. October 1 is the beginning of the Medicare Enrollment season, so it’s time to review what your plan covers. If you are enrolled in a Medicare Advantage Plan, you need to ensure that you have the coverage you need and the providers you want to use are still covered under your current policy. According to the Medicare Analyst, Sentara Health revealed they will be exiting the Medicare Advantage market on Standard plans, but they will continue to offer Duel Special Needs Plans until 2026. This decision is part of a broader trend among several insurers to exit the Medicare Advantage Market due to financial pressures and changes in reimbursement rates.

You can contact your local insurer to attend a Medicare Seminar to learn about the changes for 2026. In the Hampton Roads area, seminars will be offered in October and November at JenCare Senior Medical Center and Centerwell Senior Primary Care locations in Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, and Norfolk. To learn more, contact Choice Connections of Virginia at (804) 364-0123.
