Kim Walters

Kim is a partner of Choice Connections. She joined the team in 2023 and has always had a heart for senior care. Beginning as a teen she worked as a server in an assisted living community and as an adult worked as a senior caregiver for 8 years. Kim’s professional background is in engineering, and she holds engineering Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Ohio University and Ohio State University. After facing the intimidating landscape of senior care with her own family Kim decided to change career paths. She is credentialed as a Certified Senior Advisor® (CSA) and has a great appreciation for the challenges that seniors face.

Kim understands the complicated and often overwhelming process of exploring senior living. She truly enjoys getting to know each of her clients and their unique situation. Whether planning ahead or looking for immediate solutions, she is committed to helping families and their loved ones find their best fit senior living option.

Lisa Hollier

Lisa is a partner of Choice Connections of Virginia and is a Certified Senior Advisor® (CSA), which means she truly understands the key health, social and financial factors that are important to seniors as well as how these factors work together. She has been helping families make good decisions in senior care since 2009 when the company was formed. She is a graduate of the University of Richmond, earned a Masters Degree from George Washington University, and has extensive professional experience in banking and consulting.

Lisa knows that when a family member transitions to a new home, people need to be able to rely on someone who can assist them in evaluating their options and making the best choices. Many people don’t realize how difficult this process can be until they begin a search and just don’t know what to look for. Lisa makes it her goal to eliminate as much stress and anxiety as possible during this life change while providing friendship, guidance, information, and support along the way.

Dawn has been a valued member of the Choice Connections team since 2013, bringing both professional expertise and a lifelong passion for serving seniors. As a Certified Senior Advisor® and Certified Dementia Practitioner, she offers knowledgeable, compassionate guidance to families navigating senior living decisions.

Her dedication began early—volunteering in a nursing home as a child and later working as a nurse’s aide. Over the years, Dawn has built extensive experience across multiple areas of senior care, including patient care coordination, home healthcare, and service with her local Area Agency on Aging.

Beyond her professional roles, Dawn is deeply committed to her community. She has generously contributed her time to organizations that enhance the lives of seniors, including the Peninsula Task Force on Aging and the Boards of Directors for the Williamsburg Senior Center, Blooms that Brighten, and Respite Care of Williamsburg. These experiences have allowed her to develop strong local relationships and valuable insight into the wide range of senior living resources available.

Dawn is a dedicated advocate who understands that finding the right senior living option can feel overwhelming. She takes a personalized approach, carefully assessing each client’s unique needs and circumstances to help identify solutions that provide comfort, safety, and peace of mind. Her goal is to ensure every individual and family she serves finds a place that truly feels like home.

Meet your Virginia Beach/Southside area local advisor

Delores Jacobson

As an LPN, Delores was drawn to Choice Connections because of her life experiences. Having started her career as an aide caring for seniors with memory impairment, Delores became a nurse and provided both in-home care, hospital, and skilled nursing. Prior to moving to Virginia 10 years ago, Delores was herself a family caregiver for over 6 years. Amazed at how difficult it was to navigate care options, Delores decided to help other families through this transition and worked in area senior living communities, private duty, home health, and hospice. She has focused on improving both the lives of our area seniors as well as providing support to the families through caregiver support groups, Memories in the Making, We Honor Veterans, and educational speaker series.

Along the way, Delores has developed an amazing network of professionals serving our area seniors. Her goal is to help families find the best care options for their loved ones. By getting to know what is important to your family, Delores can help find the perfect solution for the next chapter in your senior’s story.
